Benedum Collaborative
What is the Benedum Collabortive Program?
The Benedum Collaborative program was established in 1990. It is one of the oldest collaborative programs in the United States. The Collaborative makes it possible for the university to work together with public schools for hands on and experimental learning for university students preparing to be in the field of teaching. The Benedum currently works with 28 public schools within five school disricts.
Benedum Collaborative Goals
The Benedum Collaborative Program has designed three goals to ready preservice teachers for their future careers.
1.) To redesign the Teacher Education Program at West Virginia University
2.) To establish professional development schools3.) To establish collaborative strategies and relationships to make these changes last
